HE IS FINALLY HERE!!!

Logan Michael Garner was born Friday, August 24th at 3:35pm. He is so cute! We just love his dark curly hair, long slender hands, and round little face. He is so sweet. It took us days to name him but we think it fits.
Here we are in the hospital with grandma right after the delivery. I look lovely don't I?
It has been so nice having my mom here to help and support us. I don't know what I will do without her. She goes home today...help!
Look how happy Mike looks as a new dad. He is so proud of our little man.

I had to try to take a picture of his curly hair but it didn't work out. It is pretty thick in the back. I will attempt to take a better picture again soon.

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!!

On Friday my doctor will be inducing labor if it doesn't happen on its own before then. It still doesn't feel real. We are going to have our very own little guy.
My mom is flying in late tonight. I am so relieved that she will be here for the big event.
With everything going on I don't know when I will be able to post next but you know there are lots of pictures on the way.
Chattanooga

We had a great weekend. On Saturday we headed down to Chattanooga for something to do. To our suprise it was a shorter ride than we expected. Next time we have house guests we will have to take them down there. There was so much to do and it is a cute old city. We ended up going to the Tennessee Aquarium first.

This is Mike with one of the largest crabs ever.

This is a not so cute picture of me in front of the cute penguins. I must say, I was proud of myself for being out and about at 39 weeks of pregnancy.

After the aquarium we had to go to Ben and Jerry's for a cool treat. It was really hot outside.

After ice cream we went to a 3d imax show of the deep sea. It was really cool.

I wish we had a picture of the cute diner that we found. It was a cute old place that was packed with locals. We sat at the counter and enjoyed the environment and good food before we headed back home.

Eclipse

I loved the book Eclipse by Stephenie Meyers! It is the third in the series and I can't wait for number four. If you haven't read these books you should. They are totally fun and easy reading. I haven't met anyone that hasn't enjoyed them. Somehow you get totally pulled in and you won't want to put them down. I feel like I am old friends with the main characters and I talk about them as if they were real people.

Did the third book give anyone else a little anxiety? I wish I could talk more about it now but I know there are many that haven't had the chance to finish it yet and I don't want to spoil anything. I just finished today and I am a tiny bit sad because I didn't want it to end.

Waiting!

Well I have finally made it to 38 weeks and 2 days and "D-day" isn't looking so close. My doctor suggested I go on exercise-like walks (he mentioned one or two other things that I won't include, I know you know what I'm talking about people) to get more contractions going. Otherwise it looks like they will induce labor on August 28th. I don't know how I feel about inducing. I hear that it makes for a more difficult labor. Is that true?

We visited the hospital on Saturday to set our minds at ease. The woman at the information desk was really nice and she gave us a little tour of the ob. It was good to see where all of the upcoming events will take place. The facilities were nice and the nurses seemed very kind. Everyone seemed shocked that we didn't take any birthing classes. It is a little late now so I hope my body knows what to do. Is it really that common to take a class? I am open to any advice people.

Lately I have just been hanging out here at home. I feel tired but fine. I went to the library and checked out a bunch of books and I also got my new copy of Eclipse in the mail, so I have just been reading like mad. I can't wait to finish Eclipse. I love Stephenie Meyers' books! Other than that I just clean and then go on walks in the evening with Mike. Pretty exciting. I plan on having more to write about after the baby is born. I am sure you will grow tired of all the pictures I plan on posting of the kid. He still needs a name any suggestions? We have a list of names that we can both live with but we aren't totally excited about any of them. Help!

The Baby's Room

The baby's room is slowly coming along. I decided to go with the quilt I made (thanks to your helpful advice and comments). I found this cute rocking dinosaur and a perfect brown rug to add a little detail.

I also found these great metal bins to store stuff under the crib.

I was trying to tie things together so I hand-sewed the same rick-rack that is on the quilt to the bumper pad. I just finished it today.

I have another project I am working on for the room but it isn't finished yet. I will post it as soon as it is done. For now we really just need to figure out what we are going to call this baby. We just have three more weeks until his official due date. I can hardly believe it. It doesn't seem real.
